Reliability Features
Stainless Steel Mechanism:
Nothing to corrode or degrade from the elements. Parts made of stainless steel are stronger and last longer than industry standard aluminum.
Fabric:
The premium Ultragard III fabric, available in 7 different colors is the most technically advanced material made for automatic safety pool covers today. The heavy duty vinyl and polyester fabric with advanced formula, long-chain molecule plasticizers (LCMP) stay in place longer, providing enhanced durability in the pool environment.
Heat Sealed Webbing:
This patented process of heat sealing a polymer bead to the cover material is what makes our webbing up to 15 times stronger than the standard ropes with sewn webbing. Heat-sealing also eliminates cover tearing, and makes detachable ropes possible. The webbing is also color matched to the cover material so it is aesthetically pleasing.
Motor:
The motor’s hardened stainless steel shaft and oil bathed gears eliminate motor problems. It’s also waters sealed and potted by the original motor manufacturer and can operate even when completely submersed. Other less reliable means of water protection could mean an expensive motor repair.
Ropes:
Incredibly strong proprietary high tech, non-stretch, non-shrink 4000 lb. break strength rope helps to eliminate most broken ropes.
Sliders:
Coverstar’s 803 track is a three-channel guide system which helps to eliminate binding by having a channel dedicated exclusively for the slider. Coverstar also uses sliders that are four times stronger than competitors systems.
Torque Limiter:
A mechanical torque limiter protects the motorized mechanism from too much stress. The disc brake design is reliable and easy to adjust if needed. A simple hand adjustment replaces competitors expensive electronic circuitry or shear pins that are prone to failure in the pool environment.
Stainless Steel Pulleys:
Pulley size determines rope life. 2 inch double-row, sealed, stainless steel ball bearing pulleys provide five times the load bearing capacity of commonly used pulleys, resulting in uncommonly long rope life.
Gears:
Over-sized stainless steel gears eliminate drive train breakage. Here, Lanny Smith, founder of Coverstar, applies over 7000 pounds of torque to the drive train to demonstrate the gears' strength.
